Ibiza 2017 Happenings – What to Expect
When it comes to a calendar of events, parties and special holidays, Ibiza’s is a wonderful social mix of all of those, and we’ll briefly let you know what to expect from this season’s each month of fun & sun.
And how every great thing has to start somewhere, May comes upon us with the start of the season and a whole lot of opening parties for your favorite clubs on the island. The madness takes place from May all throughout June in some places, so get your pen and paper-or rather your smartphone-and take notes on opening dates of the places you most desire to party at. Some of the clubs are really good at throwing a proper opening party, so be on the watch for those!
Come June, summer is starting to unveil and our wonderful beaches become amazing scenes for unique parties and events held all around the coastline. By the end of this month all Ibiza’s clubs will be open, so prepare for some serious club hopping! Don’t forget about Ibiza’s holiday of San Juan on the 24th, when fireworks, festivities, and great street food are to be expected.
In July, when the season has already peaked, the parties are getting wilder, the beaches even more crowded, and both locals and tourists try to find a cool place to hide from the torrid sun. The hippie markets are well-sought this month, as well as the others, and the clubs host events having some of the world’s most famous DJs as special guests. Don’t forget to book your ticket ahead for such happenings, as the prices can sky-rocket as the event approaches.
With August just around the corner, everyone will be preparing for the festivities related to the four patron Saint days of the island. More fireworks, music, and good food are about to make Ibiza the best island in the world, especially since August is also the month when the infamous Old Town festival is upon us. So don’t forget to clear your schedule for these events, and remember to stay hydrated, this is the hottest month in Ibiza!
The end of the season comes with September and October, when closing parties storm the island and the partying gets the wildest it has ever been! People like to say “Goodbye” to Ibiza in style, and every club on the island will surpass their former year closing party in terms of atmosphere, surprises, and special guests, that you can be sure of! Be sure you get to go to at least one closing party while still in Ibiza; we promise you it’s like nothing you have ever done before.
That being said, don’t think for a second that Ibiza remains deserted come winter-oh no! This island is a great retreat both in and out of season, and there will still be plenty of things to do from November ’till May, like hikes, excursions, walks around the island, visiting hippy markets, exploring the in-land, practicing water-sports or having a bite in one of the luxurious restaurants along the coast line. There is more than meets the eye to Ibiza, so try and remember that whatever the season you’re dropping by to visit!
